After many years living and working in London I moved to Cumbria in 2016.
Collage has become central to my practice. I see the actions that produce my work as akin to the processes that shape life, from peaceful additions to sudden discontinuities and traumatic ruptures. As the balance of these elements changes so too does the character of the work. I used to work primarily with found imagery, but I have recently begun to focus on a process that begins with taking photographs and then moves on to damaging, ageing and tearing them up before transforming the fragments into art work.
I have an MA in Fine Art from Camberwell College, University of the Arts London and I am a member of Green Door Artist Network. Since moving to Cumbria, alongside my own art practice, I have been involved in the development of new groups of artists and new art projects. The latest of these is the All Possibilities Are Open( APAO) group linked to the legacy of Kurt Schwitters. Please click on the 'News' section of this website for the latest information on exhibitions and events associated with this group as well as more general information about my activities as an artist.
