After many years living and working in London I moved to Cumbria in 2016.
For some years, collage was central to my practice. I saw the actions that produced my work as akin to the processes that shape life, from peaceful additions to sudden discontinuities and traumatic ruptures. As the balance of these elements changed so too did the character of the work. I originally worked with found imagery, then I begun to use my own photographs and finally I began to use drawings as the the basis of the work.
My collage-based work is currently in abeyance. I may return to it in the future, but since the early months of 2021 my focus has been on portraiture.
I have an MA in Fine Art from Camberwell College, University of the Arts London and over the years I have continued to reflect on, analyse and develop my practice, most recently by moving from experimental abstract to more traditional figurative work.
Since moving to Cumbria, alongside my own art practice, I have been involved in the development of new groups and new art projects. These include All Possibilities Are Open( APAO), a group linked to the legacy of Kurt Schwitters.
